The Doris Day Fashion Show Part 7
Doris Day was in her late 40s to early 50s and still beautiful and sexy when she did The Doris Day show. She didn't want to do a TV sitcom but was obligated after her husband Marty Melcher signed a contract without telling her. Marty died shortly after signing the contract. I am thankful her son Terry Melcher convinced her to fulfill the contract and so she went on to do 5 seasons of The Doris Day Show. The episodes when she would put on a fashion show really showcased her still stunning beauty and amazing body! I loved everything Doris Day did including her movies, her singing, and her television show. I am uploading these clips to share with the world.

Written by Irving Berlin Sung and danced by one of my all time favorites Doris Day! From the movie Love Me Or Leave Me, a fictionalized account of the career of jazz singer Ruth Etting and her tempestuous marriage to gangster Marty Snyder, who helped propel her to stardom.

Beautiful song written by Jobim sung deliciously by Diahann Carroll. Many remember Carroll in the TV shows Dynasty and Julia, but I bet many also didn't know that she had such a fabulous voice.

Absolutely stunning
Best female vocalist of all time❤️
MGM struggled utilizing Cinemascope to its best advantage. It's a gorgeous number, but the camera can't zoom or move. As a result, the screen has a lot of "wasted space" to the far left and right. It's a similar problem with Fred Astaire and Leslie Caron in their Daddy Long Legs dance numbers. Watching a musical from one static angle is not unlike watching a play filmed from a seat in the third row.
This is unique, before and after anything else.
Can't hold a candle to Ann Miller's version in "Easter Parade"
What was up with David Frost? And. What was he doing with OUR Diahann??
I love that movie, due to the beautiful wardrobe that Doris wore.
Beautifull 🩵🩵🩷🩵🤓
❤ 😊
And this wonderful singer has been singing this song since 1935 .
She was 12 years old when she first sang this.
Espléndido realmente.
This is musical star, Doris Day in a great dramatic turn, portraying the true life-story of Ruth Ething. Who said musical stars can't be great dramatic actors? Doris proved her acting range with a gamut of emotions in this film as well as other dramatic turns in Storm Warning, Julie, The man who knew too much and The Midnight Lace. She sang, danced and acted up a storm in dozens of movies beginning with the super-hit of all times "Romance on the high seas" and she never looked back. Ms. Day was a super-star of her time as well as Hollywood Royalty!
I agree - the subtle key changes, the Garland emotion - terrific. Also love the quieter Streisand version with the Gounod Ave Maria as background music.
😮 it's corcovado! Never heard the full English version
Judy, I smile every time I hear you sing.
Absolutely mesmerizing. May she always be remembered for the absolute star she was.
When I was in Gunnison Colorado at Western State college Yvette Mimieux and I were on the same plane...She was on her way to Crested Butte Ski resort to appear in the straight to video movie called Snow Beast...She gave me a nasty sneer and then just walked away... Her career was kaput at that point and I could tell how sad and used up she felt..The movie business can be ruthless and cruel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Black American song writers - "After You've Gone" is a 1918 song composed by Turner Layton (1894-1978), with lyrics written by Henry Creamer (1879-1930)
I love her so much ❤ !!!!!
she has my favorite tone of any female singer. rip smile my dear judy
poor judy had a sad life. once of the most talented unique singers in history but simply not known as should be. hmmm odd
I had heard that Frank Gorshin the Riddler was in this movie but IDK ( I Didnt Know) he was cause I nrver seen the movie now I know and knowing's half the battle.
Think the orchestra was conducted by Mort Lindsey.
This song first premiered in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1927.
Amazing song zing went the strings of my heart
So human, so real; a gift for the ages...
Just gets better with age ❤❤❤
Doris always had the most dazzling costumes, no matter what film she was in.
Sassy walk in dance number ❤❤❤
No one can match this womans vocals or talent she's the best triple threat in the business and still no one can match her 👊👏❤
Too ethereal for this dense planet earth. So talented...
Greatest singer ever, hands down.
I liked Carroll Baker in How the West Was Won. She failed in Harlow in 1965 to transcend the garbage screenplay. The movie bombed and effectively ended her career right there and then.
Doris really dazzled back in the 50s. Whenever our local theater showed one of her movies, the seats were packed to the front rows.
😅pp😅
What is the name of this movie ?
A true icon ❤
Wowsa I didn’t realize WHAT a figure Shirley McClaine had. She’s stunning!!
These actors are great but do you know who is greater? Jesus. He is selfless and loving. He died for everyone's sins, past, present, and future. Be careful when watching these films. We mustn't make these people our idols. Exodus 20:3-5 says "You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens on earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods." Not only that, but the end times are here. 2 Timothy 4:1-5 states "You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. People will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!" This is merely to inform people, not to attack them. God bless.
Suddenly you're older...

Nothing like classic Hollywood! We'll never see gems like this again. Treasure the memories that we've got <3
Judy Garland was ABSOLUTELY THE MOST TALENTED ARTIST to EVER come out of Hollywood!
About 8/9 years ago I saw this video and fell in love with bossa nova. And who else could pull off that costume? She was beautiful.
Greatest female singer of all time!!! Even Barbara said it!
Hollywood actors aren’t like this anymore, Judy was one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived! She certainly knew how to entertain a crowd with her powerful voice you can just hear it if you listen to her live performance at Carnegie Hall I like the little dance she does in this particular video starting at 1:50
Hello friends, does anyone know the name of the concert where Judy sings "almost like been in love" and before starting with "this can't be love" she makes a grunt type AAJJJ it's a version that I can't find on RUclips anymore
Great! Doris Day was born for the screen. The composition and orchestra are of timeless elegance, atmospheric and full of speed for quick-step.
This great lady deserves at least a million views for this beautiful song
